About Us
Empowering Children Through Developmental Support

Our Journey
IETT Strategies was founded in July 2009 by social workers Belinda Small and Sonja Johnson, who believe in the potential for continuous learning and change in behaviors. Having met in 1995 as school social workers in Detroit, they were trained under the Mediated Learning Experience model and together implemented therapeutic techniques and facilitated workshops on topics like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anger management, self-esteem building, coping, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
In 2009, they aimed to extend their impact beyond schools, leading to the establishment of IETT Strategies, which now includes a team of four Master-level social workers and one teacher dedicated to strengthening Detroit and its communities.

2010-2019: IETT Strategies provided Saturday programing for youth and their families at the former Don Bosco Hall Community Resource Center. These programs consisted of culturally based character building classes, field trips, organized recreational activities and parent support groups.
-
2020- 2023: IETT Strategies provided on-going virtual workshops for children and youth ages 3 to 18 years old to assist them with improving expression of feelings and life- skills/job readiness skills respectively.

Currently, IETT Strategies is back to providing Saturdays therapeutic fun programing for children, youth and their families. We also partner up with SKIP (Saving Kids of Incarcerated Parents) via providing monthly life skills support groups.
